question for the podcast: do you think that a major archeological discovery due to new technologies (groud penetrating radar etc.) would have a revolutionary impact on the global state of consciousness? or it will have to take a natural cataclysm?
how important is it to stick with the imperial units system?
Considering the future can hold a lot of promise, what do you consider the evolution of the stste as a whole? Would society no longer need governments and would people be more self sustained if they ended up more educated?
What is the dominant mechanism by which an impact might induce abrupt climate change? I can understand how an event can COOL the Earth, by injecting particulate matter into the atmosphere, blocking SW radiation, etc., but what about the WARMING event such as that of 11,600 YA? Does the direction of change, warming or cooling, depend on where on the Earth the object strikes? Please clarify and relate to the 12,900 and 11,600 events. Thanks, Brandon
The difference, as I understand it, is whether the impact happens on land or in an ocean. Land impacts hurl vast amounts of dust into the upper atmosphere which blocks a significant amount of solar energy, resulting in rapid cooling.
An impact in deep ocean, on the other hand, sends enormous amounts of water vapor into the upper atmosphere. Water vapor is by far the strongest “greenhouse” component of the atmosphere, so an ocean impact would result in rapid warming and global torrential rain.
So the 12,900 impact was over land(and ice), which resulted in rapid cooling and the onset of the Younger Dryas. The 11,600 event impacted in an ocean somewhere, causing rapid warming.
Graham, Seeing as how all facets of technology do not advance at the same rate, what areas were the global civilization of 10,000 BC advanced the most? I.E. electricity, masonry, chemistry, biology, etc… And do you think a civilization other than ours ever achieved space travel?
Randall, have you ever entertained the expanding earth theory? If so, what thoughts do you have about it?

Expanding earth is an interesting idea, but when I sat down and worked out the math, that killed it for me.
What are your impressions/thoughts on recent sky phenomenon in the past few weeks such as the Taurid Meteor shower? Is that was what was seen recently breaking apart over Bangkok? Are we going through a region in space littered w comets?
Why does it seem like NASA is preparing for disclosure? Can they be trusted or does it need to be a coordinated worldwide effort?

Randall, you have mentioned scale invariance in geology
which is in many ways comparable to the repeating numbers we see between the
Platonic solids and the measures of time and space. Essentially, we are talking
about the fractal-like recurrence of the Golden Ratio or Fibonacci sequence which
we see manifest at the micro and macrocosmic scales (spiral pattern of
movement/growth). This leads to the idea that the universe is somehow not
random, but designed. What are your thoughts on the universe (or Earth) as a
system designed for human (spiritual) experience? Does the intrinsic disintegration of
matter and knowledge over time obscure reality and feed our myopic awareness of
advanced human antiquity reaching back beyond where our minds can grasp? Again, if by design, this amnesis (past and future) would potentially
be for a reason. What do you think?

Question for Randall and or Graham: more about the geological mechanisms behind the sinking of the Azores (Atlantis?) after the ice melted. Maybe show the seafloor geology. And was a pyramid found there. If yes, why does nobody go there to find out more? And if yes where has this civilization gone? Remnants found in Spain (Tartessos, Basque language origin)? Remnants on other continental plains now under water in other parts of the Earth?
Question for Randall : Is it possible that the survivors of this cataclysmic event formed secret societies in order to preserve the knowledge and the technology that they had, and is it possible that these secret societies still exist ?
Even better, is it possible that these secret societies existed before the cataclysmic event as well, and that they had the foreknowledge of this event and were thus able to survive in the first place ?
A few questions for Randall and Graham for the podcast:
1. As part of the great deluge stories, most stories seem to reference heavy rainfall, with huge rain drops and hail as the main contributor of the flooding. Has any modeling or study been done which corroborates scientifically what would happen if such large amounts of ice and water were ejected into the atmosphere after a cosmic impact?
2. Has there been any more recent work in exploring the pyramid shaped structure found off the Azores islands? What is the most interesting discovered underwater archeological site in your opinion?
3. There seem to have been some major advancements in land based archeological surveying equipment in the last 10 years which has been a major contributor to all the recent discoveries. Has there been similar progress in underwater archeological technology (e.g. underwater drones, etc) that has you particularly excited?

Spent the first half of 2015 listening to Randall speak at “The Quest for the Cosmic Grail” series, and just finished reading “Magicians of the Gods”. I’m looking forward to the podcast!
Question for Randal: You have denoted previous examples falls of civilizations due to environmental catastrophes and rises due to climatic conditions. You have examined historical data and provided cyclical modelling of the past to represent these falls and rises. If Earth is 4.5 billion years old and it takes 230 million years to make one complete galactic year, how much oomfff does the Earth have left, and on a more idealistic time frame what is our next global catastrophe prediction within our 25600 galactic plane cycle? I think this is the most important question we can ask for our optimistic survival of humanity.
Question for Graham or Randall. Do you find any credibility to David Talbot’s claim that we were originally a satellite of Saturn or connected to it somehow? It goes against everything I believe and our science has explained yet I can’t help but think that there might be some little bit of truth in it.
Tom Van Flandern’s model of the solar system is very convincing. Earth and Venus were twin planetesimals spat out by our sun in a state of over-spin. His book ‘Dark Matter, Missing Planets and New Comets’ I highly recommend… and outlines his meta-model of the universe and goes a long way to explain how our solar-system has ended up in it’s current configuration. What’s more as a bonus it completely makes sense and is easy to understand.
Mr. Carlson, could you spend a little time discussing the moon, its relationship with the cube, and why it has been hinted as “The Ark.” Why is the moon so venerated in the mystery traditions?
Question for Graham Hancock. I have read ‘Magicians’ twice and follow Randall’s work as well. Pillar 43 in enclosure ‘D’ at Gobekli Tepe is one of dozens and we are as yet to determine what is on those. I appreciate Paul Burley’s work and your commentary therein but why didn’t our ancestors simply carve into stone the stars (spots) in their correct time-frame, sun and a comet (or comets) raining down above the diagram if they were trying to communicate / portend some great cataclysm? To my mind that would have left absolutely no room for (zodiacal) interpretation on the part of the discoverer. The fact the site is buried tells me it was never meant to be found (i.e. not a time-capsule)… whereas the Great Pyramid… well that’s another story.
I have a question: How can we use or apply this information in our everyday life? Fascinating stuff. I wish I had a time machine to see what previous civilization(s) where like, 15k, 25k, 40k back. I believe you all on the most recent catastrophe, do you have evidence or hypothesis on others? Thank you.
sorry, haven’t read all the suggestions here in the comments… my first reaction to graham hancocks announcement “that a cosmic explosion will soon strike Earth” was one of disappointment because it felt like sensationalist fear mongering. but I would be very interested in the evidence behind such a prediction.
also – dunno into how much detail you have already gone on this – I would be interested in your opinion on the anthropogenic greenhouse effect.
and a question for Graham, if I can post that here: have you considered that the sumerian fish-guys (Oannes?) might have been wearing a diving suit? and came out of a sub? hehe.
